Adam Vacuuming

This is the first time Adam has ever vacuumed. Pretty sweet that he has made it until he was 7. The bad news is you will be vacuuming the rest of your life!

There are a couple things that I love about these pictures. First is our rug. That rug has taken serious beatings and takes them like a champ. Emily did an awesome job picking it out.
Adam always wears long sleeve shirts. He loves them.
The only reason Adam is vacuuming is because he wants a friend to come over. He seems to summon an amazing motivation when he wants a friend over!

We have a towel over part the couch because that is wear the boys ripped the leather and Ella pulled out all the stuffing her little arm could reach. It was a slow process. It took her months.
There is a shredder by the TV because we have to put it in front of the PlayStation so Ella won't mess with it while Adam plays it. We would shut the door, but it overheats.
Adam's baby pictures are on the wall. Until a couple weeks ago those were pretty much the only family pictures we have hung.
Grandpa Glen's trunk in the corner. No one would ever recognize it because it was covered with a sewn mauve cover.

Adam 'Crazy Legs' Schultz

Looking Good

Enjoying the view
Taking it easy

Ready, Set...

Go Adam Go!

The wind up for the BIG kick

Wheels

Emily got this picture! Looks like a head ball,
but he is a little scared of that!

Having fun

Adam with a break away

This is classic 'crazy legs'.

Adam loves soccer. He has been playing since he was 3. He loves to run with his friends and play. He is nicknamed 'Crazy Legs' because of his fast feet, sometimes too fast. He has a tendency to end up on the ground. He gets a couple goals each season, but his team has not won a game in a long time. However, we got a ringer this year! They won there first game!!! We are so proud of you Adam. Keep working hard and having fun!

Ethan's 1st Soccer Game

This is my favorite sequence. Ethan starts of with the ball.
He gets double teamed with a little 4 yr body checking.

He comes off victorious!

Here is his break away!

Hurry Ethan! They are catching you.

And the take down from behind!
You did good Ethan.

Ethan on the kick off.

I love how huge his clothes are on him! I think those are suppose to be shorts and a jersey, but they go past his knees and past his elbows.

Nice kick! Good form.

Nice wheels Ethan!

Ethan had his first soccer game today! He had lots of energy and seem to be having fun. He did well. He got close to scoring a goal and had one really good break away that was ruined by a tackle from behind.

Post race ice bath

Ice bath ready!
Ella throwing ice and freezing water everywhere.

One of us is enjoying this experience. Just one!

No intense race seems to be complete without the ice bath afterward. Ella couldn't just stand by and watch. She decided to get in and enjoy. She is crazy. If that wasn't enough she started to throw water. I love you Ella!

My First 1/2 Marathon

This was me and Paul Grube before the race.

This is me with one of my patients, Don!

I finished my first 1/2 Marathon yesterday! It was the 6 Tunnels Race. We ran through historic tunnels used by the trains that help build the Hoover Dam. I am so glad that I was able to finish the race. It was a VERY scenic run.
Most of my training has been swimming and running. I have a goal to finish a marathon too, but I just haven't had the training time in the last couple years. I look forward to completing my first marathon in the next couple years.

The race started off well. I knew I had to pace myself and try to negative split the race. What made this easy was that it was a double 'out and back'. We ran out and back from the start/finish 6.1 miles in one direction and another 7 miles out and back in the opposite direction. The first half was pretty much uphill with a headwind on the way out and downhill on the way back. I paced it well and relaxed. The second half was uphill with a cross wind. I thought I was going to lose my visor a couple times. This is where all the tunnels were except one man made bridge tunnel at the start. The trail was a little narrow at a couple points too with some nice drop offs. I was trying to make a move on people this part of the race, which in retrospect was probably a little too early. At about mile 10 the 'rollers' started. WOW! They were steep and went on for far too long. Then at the turn around was a steep incline. I seriously considered walking it! Whatever hope I had to finish strong was gone! I did survive and then started the last 3-4 miles back down through the tunnels. It was very good for me to finish downhill. I pushed as hard as I could, which was interesting. I was tired, in pain and tight. I tried to catch the guy in front of me with no success. In fact, I got passed by two people the last couple miles, one that I had passed earlier. I try to think of my boys cheering me on and see how much pain I can handle and run as fast as I can. I used to run with Adam and Ethan in a jogger and they would always tell me to go faster. I love that and try to use it all the time!

My final time was 1:34:43. My goal was to finish under 1:40. My next goal will have to be a millisecond faster than Sherry's PR! Look out Sherry! Here I come! I am not sure when my next 1/2 will be, but I'll try to pick a really fast one! Hopefully Sherry can do it with me and whoever else I can get to do it with me! Kathy? Kami? My next race is Rage Triathlon April 17th. I need to start biking hard to get ready. The weather has been kind of crazy this spring so I have enjoyed sleeping in.

Hellfire and Damnation 'The Finale'

Show offs!
Prepping for the race! Not sure what my role was, but I look as busy as Mark!

Trent showing off his impressive interviewing skills!
Haulin' Ass!

Race #2. Hellfire and Damnation choppin' at the bit!

Me and my Tevas trying to get my ass in gear.

Post race refreshments with the 'elderly', more wise, guys that didn't race.

Relaxing on the porch swing with water.

How could our donkey story end with out a full out race? The day we dropped the donkeys off we had to race them! This was a little exhausting, but lotsa fun! These pictures really start to demonstrate how dirty we got! Don't let that comfortable cabin deceive you. We had to sleep in tents.

Painting the Bathroom

How could our bathroom be complete without repainting it?! Emily did a great choosing a couple colors and with a little help from Corky we finally chose 'cup of cocoa'. I decided to take pictures with emotion. I asked Adam and Ethan to give me some emotions: happy, scary, afraid, sad. And if you were on the cruise, you know exactly what face Emily is giving! No oceans by us, but that has never stopped me before. I did miss the nice cool, salty rinse! Maybe I should install a salt water bidet.
BTW - The bathroom isn't done getting painted. Emily was able to get the whole thing by herself Saturday!! Great job! Love you Emily!
It might notice that Ethan is just wearing his underwear.. We had to institute an underwear rule at our house. 'You have to at least wear underwear'. You can guess that we would check on the boys and everything was fine, but something was always missing-their clothes, all of them. Ella loves to break the rule right now and she doesn't seem to be quite old enough to understand. Let's hope she gets it soon. :)

Shower e Finito!!!

It is finished! We enjoy our new shower! Most projects take forever, but I love the feeling of the finished project and the money I saved. We have had a lot of visitors give the shower a try. Our list includes: Mark (he even squeegeed the mirror), Trent, Jeannie and Timmy. We look forward to many more visitors and love all the people who stay with us!
